Some teams had a chance to clinch high school playoffs this week, others were fighting to keep their season alive.

Here is a rundown of how CMU commits did last week:

Mt. Pleasant RB/LB Hunter Buczkowski - Mt. Pleasant 42 - Northwestern 22
Buczkowski ran the ball five times for 48 yards and a touchdown to help his team improve to 4-2 on the season. He also totaled 10 tackles and an interception on defense. Buczkowski was visiting CMU this past weekend during its 29-19 win over NIU on homecoming.

Clintondale DE Joshuwa Eldridge
- Clintondale 30 - Clawson 0
Eldridge helped his team earn its second shutout victory of the season as the Dragons improved to 4-2 on the season.

Utica RB Kumehnnu Gwilly
- Utica 21 - Chippewa Valley 28
Future CMU running back Kumehnnu Gwilly had another game for the books Friday night, rushing the ball 25 times for 175 yards and two touchdowns. But it wasn't enough as his team ultimately lost the game. Chippewa Valley's head coach was quoted after the game saying he was happy they held Gwilly under 200 yards. Utica fell to 3-3 on the year.

Mumford WR Tee'Ondre Harvey - Mumford 0 - Renaissance 6
The Mumford offense was held without a touchdown for the second time in three weeks. They fell to 4-2 on the season with the loss. Stats for Harvey were unavailable.

Highlands (Kentucky) QB Austin Hergott - Highlands 3 - Simon Kenton 42
Hergott struggled mightily last Friday night as Simon Kenton beat Highlands for the first time since 1978. It was the first meeting between the two schools since 1998. Hergott completed 16-of-33 passes for 106 yards while throwing five interceptions. He took an official visit to CMU last Saturday for homecoming, and maybe his head was not in the game.

Farmington DB Jakkar Jackson - Farmington 47 - Rochester 6
Farmington improved to 4-2 on the season with a huge win last Friday night. They have been one of the state's strongest defensive units this year and Jackson has been a big part of that success. His individual stats were unavailable from the game.

Detroit King DE Leon Page - King 34 - Cody 0
The Detroit Martin Luther King Crusaders once again proved why they have the best team in Michigan with its second shutout in three weeks. Page helped his team clinch an MHSAA playoff spot with the victory. Individual stats unavailable.

Bishop McNamara (Illinois) RB Jonathan Ward - Bishop McNamara 2 - Hales Franciscan 0
Bishop McNamara improved to 5-1 on the season with a victory by forfeit last week against Hales Franciscan. H.F. is suffering from financial problems and will not be funding a football team this season. The Fighting Irish hope this does not impact their chance to make the playoffs with no points being awarded for the win. Ward also visited CMU this past weekend for homecoming.
