Per multiple sources, Portage (Mich.) Central 2014 running back Jerrod Davis has committed to Central Michigan. This is likely a greyshirt. Davis is listed at 6-foot-0 and 190 pounds. Not sure on his 40-yard dash. I've been told that he was at Detroit King before Portage Central. Not sure what his other offers or interest were. Will try to find out more. If Portage Central sounds familiar, that's because the Chippewas had a commit from there in this class until a few weeks ago in Hunter Lassiter.
Davis rushed for 1,357 yards and 23 touchdowns on 136 carries as a senior. That's 9.98 yards-per-carry. He was one of two rushers for the Mustangs that ran for over 1,300 yards on at least 130 carries. Portage Central runs an extremely run-heavy Veer offense.
