Dearborn (Mich.) Fordson athlete Jamil Sabbagh has committed to CMU. He is the 13th commit in the class. The Chippewas offered him after his performance at their camp last Sunday. He is 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. He plays RB/WR and FS at Fordson. He initially projects as a wide receiver at CMU, but is athletic enough to make the switch to safety or cornerback.
With his commitment, there is technically one open scholarship left for 2015, which will likely go to another defensive back or linebacker. There are several guys in this group (not including guys already on the roster) who could make the switch to defense (Banks, Eisser, Ross, Wilborn) and some probably will, so the low numbers on defense in this class shouldn't be that concerning. If Briones switches to LB, that will clear some things up. Obviously, a few more spots should open up with attrition and there always room for a couple greyshirts, but this class is pretty close to being set. I've been trying for a few days to set up a time to talk with Jamil, with little success, but I am supposed to speak with him tomorrow afternoon, so the full story should be up tomorrow night.
