Some news and notes:
As reported here, DE Nathan Mitogo was on campus (not sure if he made the game) this past week. He is still very much in the picture. Has 23 tackles and 4.5 sacks so far this season. Hearing CMU may only have a few spots left in this class, as in two. That does not count Clay Walderzak.Speaking of Walderzak, really could end up at any number of positions. Don't rule out FB with him as well as DE, TE, OG or maybe even DT. All depends on how he grows here in the next few years. Couple of new in-state players to keep an eye on, as CMU always likes to look at late rising seniors:
DT Nicholas Matiere-Bey, Flint Southwestern
-Stood out in the offseason at 6-foot-3 and 265 pounds. Plays DE and TE for his team
RB/FB Ben Line, Oxford
-Brother Zach plays for the Minnesota Vikings and other brother is currently at SMU. 6-foot and 220 pounds, could be a FB or LB. Just a tough nosed football family.
WR Kyle Steigenga, Holland Christain
-This is one that I like a lot...I mean a lot. 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds, he is an explosive athlete and setting all sorts of records. Uncle Matt was one heck of a basketball player, and that might be the route he goes as well.
Then I still look at Jalen Brooks, Lorenzo Collins and Kyle Rachwal as well.
With CMU's next game being on November 6th, look for the staff to his the recruiting trail hard the next two weeks. Could see some new names pop up.
