Well recruiting has certainly slowed down, and for good reason. CMU is basically done in the 2014 class, with only a few select offers out there right now.

FOOTBALL
Obviously the decommitment of TE/DE David Walker from Western Michigan is interesting. He was thought to be a big CMU target after he camped, and it was kind of surprise that he popped to the Broncos so quickly. CMU was looking at him as a DE or a TE, much the same way they are with Jonathan Carson and Nate Brisson-Fast. CMU pulled their offer before he committed to WMU as Brisson-Fast took the spot, but they have since been in contact and Walker is once again on the radar.Besides Walker, the other two players CMU is really looking at are Dearborn OT Bearooz Yacoobi and Detroit MLK defensive back Jalen Embry. I've been trying to get in touch with Yacoobi, but he is pretty low key and tough to get a hold of. Yacoobi camped at MSU and at 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds, they are actually looking at him as a TE/OL project. Incoming recruit Amari Coleman from New Lothrop (Mich.) won't turn 17 until October and he was recruited as a DB and return man.

BASKETBALL

CMU and Keno Davis have also been busy on the recruiting trail, and the Chippewas staff has been seen all over the country on the summer AAU circuit.
Mishawaka (Ind.) Marion PG Devin Cannady already held offers from NIU and IUPUI, but CMU could be close to jumping in. Class of 2015.CMU was really going after 2014 PF Tyler Wideman from St. Johns (Ind.) Lake Central. He made an unofficial visit but then Butler offered and he committed about a week ago. Was a 6-foot-7 and 240 pound big man who could have been a VERY good get in the MAC.
