Hello CMU fans,
Scheduling has not been my best friend recently. As of now it looks like I will miss the season opener against Oklahoma State, as High School football also plays that night due to Labor Day. (I cover local high school sports for a living along with CMU recruiting).
While this saddens me I am doing everything in my power to get someone at the game. But regardless, I will bring a follow up story and I will also be providing stats from all of CMU's future class and what they are doing for their high schools.
Practice has been amping up for the Chippewas. They held a night practice earlier this week to give the team a feel for playing under the lights where they will be on September 3rd.
Spalding is doing better every day and should be available for week 1. He might be limited, but his presence makes the RB group more confident as a whole.
I think one of the biggest question most people have is what we will see from a play-calling standpoint with Coach Bonamego. It should be a very balanced attack. Cooper Rush is going to have chances here and there to show his arm off, but don't be surprised if the offense is very "vanilla" for the first few weeks. The team is learning a new system and it will take some time.
Either way I think we all just have that itch right about now and are getting excited.
