The Central Michigan men's basketball team signed four new players for the class of 2016 on Wednesday afternoon during the early signing day period which took place across the country.

Illinois guard Matty Smith.
- Smith is a 6'0" point guard from South Elgin High School that will bring true ball handling skills to the Chippewas next season. Smith is a great addition that will hope to mold well with the other recruits. Smith is currently Elgin's all-time leading scorer with 1,103 points, a number he will add to this winter. He was named his team's MVP both his sophomore and junior year and plays with the Illinois Wolves on the AAU circuit.

Michigan guard/wing Kevin McKay.
- McKay is a 6'4" versatile athlete from Warren De La Salle High School that can play the 1-4 and almost anywhere on the court. He fits into Keno Davis' system very well, and the program is very excited to have him on the team next season. McKay was the first to send his letter, and he is excited to be on campus. He broke the 1,000 point mark for his career as a junior last season.

Michigan forward Innocent Nwoko.
- Nwoko is a 6'11" beast from New Haven High School. He averaged 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks per game last season as a junior, but his ability to disrupt the opposing offense is what makes him so special. He is long and strong on the inside, and should give CMU a solid down low presence in the future.

Texas guard Ellis Jefferson.
- Jefferson is a 6'0" point guard from Louis Brandeis High School in San Antonio. CMU continues it's strong recruiting ability in the state of Texas with the signing of Jefferson. He is a true point guard with a lot of quickness and good ball handling skills. As a junior he averaged 19.4 ppg, 7 rpg, 2 apg and 1.7 spg. As a sophomore he was named team MVP at Brandeis HS.
