My wife and I had the chance to attend tonight's football event at the Casino.
Coach B was able to address the crowd and introduce most of his staff.
Most of the coaches that stayed on after signing day have been retained. Unless I missed something, the lone exception was Kyle Nystrom, who acted as the interim HC after Enos bailed. I thought this was a bit surprising, but I have no idea what the circumstance is. There are new additions as well.

Coach B indicated the'y'll simplify the playbook and will play with more tempo. He made it a point to say they will strive for a quick and explosive offense. I don't think his emphasis regarding that was an accident. He also urged the crowd to fill the stadium. He made it a point to say that we need to get back to the days of having a real home field advantage. He was passionate about that, he recognizes the issues we've had with crowds the past few years.

The whole evening had a very distinct feel about it. It almost felt like the program was officially throwing the dirt on the Enos era, as the athletic department made it a point to address some of the elephants that have been in the room for the past 5 years. When Heeke introduced Coach B, he made it a point to talk about how he bleeds Maroon and Gold, and how much of an positive influence he'll have on the local community, and that he want's to live and contribute to our community here. Something Enos never would or wanted to do.

It was a good night, I walked away impressed and excited. I was out front as a skeptic when he was first hired, but after looking into it a bit more, I think my initial response was premature. We've wanted one of our own for a long time, someone who really wants to be here and truly loves the place. We found that with Coach B, time will tell if he can win some games, but it's nice to have someone who truly wants to be here, wants to be a part of our community, and possibly someone who won't be looking for that next job as soon as they have an 8 win season.
