I have been searching for words since the final whistle today but am having trouble finding them.
Proud of the team? Yes.
Disappointed? Yes.
Positives: CMU showed no quit. They fought hard, came back, made incredible plays and made clutch plays when they needed em. Cooper Rush is legit. He can lead this team to a MAC title. The run game got going a little bit today, and Hayes looks more comfortable each week despite the fumble. Even Martez Walker had some good runs today. Ben McCord is still really good.
Negatives: Penalties. And not just 5-Yarders, stupid personal fouls that are costing the team chunks of field. Targeting. Losing Ricketts on the second play of the game hurt a lot, and WMU scored on the very next play. Slow starts. For the second straight game CMU got off to a slow, sloppy start. It's a trend that needs to end now.
It's a tough loss. It hurts. But if we have found anything out about this team it's that they are not going to give up. Still have a lot to play for. All in all it was a great game, just hurts to say it.
