Hey Guys,

Just returned from the Caribbean on a 7-day cruise. Had a blast and didn't want to come back to the cold (low of 37 here in North Carolina!), but all good things must come to an end. Due to the advent of technology, I was actually able to catch both the WMU and UMass games on my phone, albeit with a few tech issues.

Props to Steve for holding down the fort while I was gone as well!

I'll start with WMU

Can't believe CMU won a game with a -4 TO margin. Wow!Tipton is a warrior, but still lacks the burst and top end speed.Rough game by Cooper Rush, but easier to deal with in a win. Still having trouble with zone coverages.WMU had some stars in Dareyon Chance, Johnnie Simon and Justin Currie who all wanted to be Chips.Blake Serpa was very active. Interesting that he went to same HS as P.J. Fleck.Tony Annese with a HUGE INT and TD return. Like his promotion at safety.Been saying for a year that Kavon Frazier's best position will be LB.Thought CMU had them on the ropes early on. TO's kept game from becoming a blowout.Still damn impressed with what Fleck is doing on the recruiting trail.
On to UMass
UMass was as bad of a MAC team as I've seen. Was like dropping a wounded animal in a lions cage.Cooper Rush with his first game as a starter where he didn't throw an INT.Concerning that CMU couldn't get their running game going. 1.9 yards per carry...Former CMU greyshirt Galen Clemons started at DT for UMass.Serpa was once again a standout. Has great speed and now the motor is staying on.No MAC team has been able to cover Titus Davis...UMass was no different.Hopefully CMU gained some confidence with EMU coming to town.
Recruiting
Still stand by my statement that CMU has 2 open scholarships left. Maybe 1-2 more if the right player became available. Both Nate Brisson-Fast and Alex Neering will start at DE. Add some size at 6-6 and 6-7.Think CMU will use those two spots for a OT and a punter.BCS schools are starting to look at Amari Coleman. I'm talking to him this week to get a feel.
Random
CMU has a shot (outside) at another bowl game...crazy to think about. If they don't, that UNLV game will be haunting. Would be interesting to see how the season would have went if you flip the schedule. CMU faced a few gauntlets early on.Gut tells me Titus Davis will test NFL Draft waters. I think he has shown enough to get drafted and don't be fooled that the success of Antonio Brown hasn't opened some more eyes. Listed at 6-foot-2, I think Davis is close to a flat 6-foot but has great body control and legit speed. Ironically, I think his best NFL comparison is a former Bronco: Greg Jennings. Wouldn't be shocked to see Alex Niznak transfer. Don't see him switching positions, if he wanted to do that he could would be at Michigan State right now, as they wanted him as an H-back type. Tremendous character, but he is going to want a chance to start. I remember his parents were not to excited when Kater was signed. CMU has added a graduate transfer the past two years, and I expect them to be open for any sort of transfer. Keep an eye on these guys at UM and MSU:
MSU: Nick Hill, Ty Hamilton
UM: Thomas Rawls, Justice Hayes
