A little late this week because of Tuesday night football for CMU, but better late than never!

Note: This post only includes information about commits that are on a team that has made the playoffs.

Here is a rundown of how CMU commits did last week in their respective high school games:

Mt. Pleasant RB/LB Hunter Buczkowski - Mt. Pleasant 16 - Petoskey 13
Buczkowski was once again the workhorse for the Oilers last weekend as he carried the ball 25 times for 112 yards on the ground. He also had a game-high 17 tackles helping his team to a win. It was a close game until the end. Petoskey had the ball, driving to seal the win when they fumbled in their own territory and then gave up the game-winning score to Mt. Pleasant. The Oilers will now face East Grand Rapids tonight for the Regional title.

Clintondale DE Joshuwa Eldridge - Eliminated from the playoffs.

Utica RB Kumehnnu Gwilly - Utica did not make the playoffs this year. They finished with a 4-5 record.

Mumford WR Tee'Ondre Harvey - Mumford did not make the playoffs this year. They finished with a 4-5 overall record.

Highlands (Kentucky) QB Austin Hergott - Highlands 50 - Woodford County 15 (Regular season final)
The Bluebirds took a 36-0 lead midway through the second quarter, hitting the running clock. They did not have to pass much, but Hergott completed 4-of-9 passes for 89 yards in the win. Highlands finished the regular season with a 6-5 record, and will now advance to the playoffs for a rematch with Dixie Heights. The Bluebirds handled the Colonels 42-7 back in October during their regular season game. Highlands enters the game on a hot streak winning its past five games.

Farmington DB Jakkar Jackson - Eliminated from the playoffs.

Detroit King DE Leon Page - King 42 - Roosevelt 6
The King defense was dominant last weekend, holding Roosevelt to negative yardage on four of its first five drives. The Crusaders held their opponent to just 100 total yards in the game. Page helped lead his team to a District championship, contributing to another dominant effort. King will now take on Detroit East English Village on Saturday afternoon for the Regional Title. King defeated East English 20-15 back in September in a very close battle.

Bishop McNamara (Illinois) RB Jonathan Ward
- Bishop McNamara 34 - Newman Catholic 14
The Fighting Irish won their second playoff game of the year last weekend with a big win over Newman Catholic Central. Ward had another huge game, running for 260 yards and three touchdowns. He is being called one of the best running backs in all of Illinois. He has run for 1,850 yards and 25 touchdowns so far this season. McNamara will now host Byron in the quarterfinal on Saturday afternoon. Byron was pegged as a state title favorite earlier in the year, but McNamara poses its biggest challenge yet. This is sure to be a great game.
