2016 forward David DiLeo from Iowa City (New Hampton Prep) has just committed to CMU.
He will sign his National Letter of Intent later today.
Another great grab for the Chippewas, DiLeo fits the Keno Davis mold and will add more length to next year's roster.
DiLeo is a 6-foot-7 wing that can play both the 3 and the 4 position. He averaged 15 ppg and 4.5 rpg as a junior last year while also shooting 45 percent from the three-point line.
He has helped his high school team go 100-4 over the past four seasons, including a 53-0 mark at home during that time. He has played a big role in his team winning two state championships, while also winning three Mississippi Valley Conference titles.
He was named the Iowa City Press Citizen 2015 Boys Basketball Player of the Year, while helping lead his team to a third place finish in the state tournament a year ago. He shot 50 percent from the field last season, and made a career-high 53 three-pointers. He posted 33 assists last season, and has finished every year of his prep career with more assists than turnovers.
