Kudos for those who came out. Real nice crowd.
Our kids needed a good crowd to support them after last week, and they got it.
Ugly win, but at this point this team will take it. 4-2 keeps things in the right direction for the moment.
Our run D all of a sudden isn't very good, and that bothers me. The 2 picks in the 2nd half sealed the deal though, and for the most part, the back end of the D played very well all day. Our offense continues to bother me, but I'll save my usual scheme rant for later. We racked up yard and had some big plays, but our OL is getting used pretty much every week. They were getting to the QB with 3/4 man fronts. That's beyond ridicules. Sacks just kept killing drives. They need to figure out how to get the ball out quicker, or Copper is going to eventually get hurt.
Bono said his team is a work in progress. I thought theses were interesting statements. I'd say his program is a work in progress, and that's ok. Maybe he knows he's only going to get so far with Enos recruits. The man and his staff will keep on working though, and yesterday's win sets up a big game with NIU next week. We really need to be 5-2 heading to Toledo in 2 weeks. I guess we'll see how this plays out.
Keep supporting our kids and Fire Up!
