Local talent Hunter Buczkowski had another big game, leading his team to a 3-0 start while quarterback commit Austin Hergott throws three touchdowns in a losing effort. Running back Jonathan Ward continued his monster season in a victory.

Here is a rundown of how CMU commits did last week:

Mt. Pleasant RB/LB Hunter Buczkowski - Mt. Pleasant 38 - Saginaw Arthur Hill 22
- Buczkowski had another big game with 12 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns. He also had six total tackles on defense, 4 solo and 2 assists. Oilers are now 3-0.

Clintondale DE Joshuwa Eldridge
- Clintondale 34 - Lakeshore 13
- Eldridge had six tackles on defense and helped force a safety. Helped lead the Dragons to a 3-0 start this season as they remained unbeaten.

Utica RB Kumehnnu Gwilly
- Utica 6 - Romeo 35
- After rushing for 619 yards in the first two games, Gwilly was held to just 15 yards against one of the top defenses in metro Detroit and did not score in the game. “You have to (key on Gwilly),” said Romeo co-coach Jason Couch. “He’s a tremendous athlete, so that was our focus all week. We were so nervous because how do you simulate him in practice but our team speed on defense is impressive."

Mumford WR Tee'Ondre Harvey -Mumford 9 - Cass Tech 42
-It was all Detroit Cass Tech in this one, solidifying their ranking as one of the best teams in the state. Harvey's stats were unavailable from the game.

Highlands (Kentucky) QB Austin Hergott - Highlands 24 - Ryle 48
- Ryle remained unbeaten after beating Highlands despite a decent game from Hergott. He finished 14-of-28 passing for 205 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. He was under pressure all night, however, finishing with -11 rushing yards. Highlands fell to 1-3 on the year.

Farmington DB Jakkar Jackson - Farmington 22 - Southfield 45
- The Falcons suffered their first loss of the season. Jackson had six tackles in the losing effort. He also caught a nice screen pass on offense and took it for a 20 yard gain showing versatility.

Detroit King DE Leon Page - King 20 - East English Village Prep 15
- Against one of the best teams in the state, Page and his defense came up with a big 4th and 1 stop from their own 23 with just minutes remaining in the game. Page had a sack for a safety in the big win.

Bishop McNamara (Illinois) RB Jonathan Ward - Bishop McNamara 32 - Leo 0
- Ward had another huge game helping lead his team to a 3-0 start. He had a 20-yard touchdown catch, a 55-yard touchdown run, and another 50-yard run that set his team up at the two yard line. He would score on the next play. Ward totaled three touchdowns in the victory.
