This is a man who has been patient and cautiously hopeful. Now, he has reached the edge of the cliff. He knows the program must win this year. He is hopeful all the pain of the last 4 seasons will be justified. Yet, he is nervous, anxious, and worried that the expected results might not be produced. If Enos and his guys win 7 or more things will be fine. If he goes 6-6 again, Heeke will be getting little sleep at night. If the team ends up with 5 wins or less, Heeke will be forced to make that tough decision. He can't justify giving a guy 5 years, countless "I got your back" messages, massaging the schedule and the stadium to give the team as much of a boost as he can and then accept a sub .500 season.
Finally, Heeke has reached the ultimatum season. He can't be comfortable with where we sit. He can't be sitting in his office thinking another 6 win season is justifiable. If this teams starts 1-3, Heeke will be carrying a bottle of Tum's with him 24/7.
As in everything in the adult world, you are judged by your performance. Heeke knows that fits this season perfectly for Enos and himself.
