The Chippewas finally have their quarterback for this class and it's a name that we've heard a lot about over the past few months. Per his Twitter, Dewitt (Mich.) QB Jake Johnson has committed to CMU. He's the 10th commit in the class. It's worth noting that aside from Cooper Rush, the primary quarterback in each class that Enos has brought in has been a dual-threat QB and that trend continues with Johnson. Even in Rush's class, Cody Kater was a part of the group.

Johnson is 6-foot-2, weighs 195 pounds and runs a 4.6 40-yard dash. He threw for 2,000-plus yards last fall in 11 games, with 31 TDs and 3 INTs, and took Dewitt to the state championship game. I'm really surprised that he didn't get another offer. He had an injury that cost him three games last fall, but still, with those numbers and measurables, I just don't get how another MAC school or two hasn't offered him. This is good pickup for CMU. I've already texted with Jake and I'm hoping to chat with him tomorrow, so you should have a story to read sooner rather than later.
