Hearing from multiple sources that current CMU offensive coordinator Mike Cummings has been hired at UConn for the same position.
Cummings and new UConn head coach Bob Diaco both were on the same staffs at EMU (2001) and WMU (2004). Cummings had been the Chippewas offensive line coach under Enos as well, and he is credited for developing Eric Fisher into the No. 1 draft pick.
I know Cummings was VERY well respected at CMU, and even prior to his return had a lot of connections still on campus. He was also a strong recruiter, and spent over a decade of his coaching career as his teams recruiting coordinator. Going to leave some big shoes to fill. Obviously it was an interesting role at CMU as he was the OC, but Enos called the plays. Will be interesting to see if that's the same with new OC.
Couple of potential candidates off top of my head:
Taylor Stubblefield, WR coach at Wake Forest
-Stubblefield was at CMU as WR coach under Enos in 2011. Connected with players and was a budding recruiter.
Mose Rison, WR coach at CMU
-Rison was previously the OC and HC at North Carolina Central. Already on staff.
Tim Lester, QB coach at Syracuse
-Was Western Michigan's QB when Enos was the QB coach there. Has Illinois recruiting ties, went to same HS (Wheaton Warrenville South) as Titus Davis.
Don Treadwell, former HC at Miami (OH)
-Would Treadwell join Enos at CMU? He was OC at Michigan State under same staff prior to Miami job. Currently he is not coaching anywhere. Treadwell might have bigger school options, but this would be a splash hire
