The Sound Mind Sound Body (SMSB) Football Academy began today at Dakota High School in Macomb, Michigan with more than 1,000 high school athletes attending.

Countless Central Michigan recruits are taking part in the two-day camp that will go through tomorrow evening. The entire CMU staff will be in attendance to watch the workouts before heading back up to Mt. Pleasant where CMU is hosting its first full camp this Sunday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

Today the athletes were fitted with new gear and had a chance to hear many people speak including Jerome Bettis and Jim Caldwell. Athletes were also talked to about major issues in America right now including domestic violence and police brutality.

This is one of the biggest football camps in the entire country and CMU coaches will be there to keep an eye on all the talent first hand.
